Self-publishing Grows as Traditional Publishing Output Dips PDF Print E-mail

Self-publishing is steadily growing even as traditional book publishing numbers dipped last year, according to an article in Publishers Weekly. The article was based on a study by R.R. Bowker, a company specializing in information support for the publishing industry in the United States. More and more authors are opting to go through the self-publishing route as technology once again changes the landscape of traditional media, as it did in music and movies. Self-publishing is defined as the publishing of books by the authors themselves, rather than through third-party, established publishing firms. The article is located at Publishers Weekly.
